Sorry I didn't post photo's sooner. I think I went into denial mode because I took the photo's right before I realized it wasn't the perfect fit and kinda tried to put the whole thing out of my mind. LOL healthy metal process right?! Now looking back at them I thought I took better photo's than I did. I didn't take any of it from the front angle at his shoulder but I did get pretty much all the other angles.
Wow. He needs groceries/topline.
ReplyDeleteDon't throw the saddle out. Steady is ridiculously narrow, but I'd stick with it. It seems to sit level on his back (photo 1), provide growing space (photo 2), give wither clearance (photo 3), and actually sit ok on him (photo 4). I can definitely see why you were excited.
Do the beet pulp. Add rice brain if need be. Look into weight gain oils. Denali's Mom is a supp master, as are the smart pak folks you can call. I'd definitely focus on putting weight on your boy. He's a hard keeper and requires a lot of attention.
Under saddle (with a nice saddle pad maybe like this:

With the front lift. You need something to give him a little breathing room while he bulks up. Focus on low and low WITH ENGAGEMENT (read: going forward) to help him build his topline.
Don't give up!
I wish I knew something about saddle fitting so I could help you out . . . Once his new feed starts getting the weight back on he's going to change a lot so don't give up on the saddle. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. :D
