Free lesson!
There is so much great information packed into these videos it's like taking a lesson of your own. I already posted the first video of this lesson here is several short clips from the same lesson. And youget to watch me and Steady fumble around in front of Peter.

Thank you for breaking this up into smaller pieces. It is really great stuff and I am enjoying it. My machine threw up when I told it to show me a 17 minute video. My service isn't fast enough. Thanks again. Looks like you enjoyed the clinic.
ReplyDeleteSteady obviously loves this kind of work. He is so cute and looks so happy to be doing it! :) Also very interesting about the "stand up, not lean forward" concept. I saw the difference and it makes sense ... it's probably safer and keeps you in better balance. Did it feel that way?
ReplyDeleteGlad you are enjoying them Barbara. The other video is a different one from the start of the lesson.
ReplyDeleteKaren I cannot express how much his whole teaching style changed my jumping position. It was WAY safer and balanced. I had a habit of throwing myself forward at jumps and it was a mess. The appearance of your position changes as the jumps get bigger but the concept is the same. You end up folding forward over a jump when they are bigger but you still stand up at the base of the jump and it is like the hores meets you in the middle over the jump. Gosh none of that probably makes any sense except in my little brain...lol...that is why I am NOT a trainer :)
Oh and Steady LOVES his 'job' but sadly as the week went on I got a different horse(will post video of that later). He became resistant, high strung and nearly impossible to control. I am still disecting that and trying to figure out why and I think I am starting to get a glimse into Steady's mind and figuring it out.
ReplyDeleteWow, these videos are great! I LOVE hearing him tell you what you did right and what he wants changes on. Go Steady, he looks awesome too!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see there's more videos! I watched the first one and thought gee, that's a lot of (very interesting) talking and not a lot of riding :-P But here's the rest. Can't wait to watch when I get home from work. Totally like a free clinic ;)
ReplyDeleteWow that's awesome! I loved seeing the difference in Steady on the grid. He got really collected through it a couple of times. Wow he's so gorgeous. :D The jumping position makes a lot of sense and even I can see a difference in the horse's jump. I'm so glad you got to go to that camp. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat videos! These lessons are great for performance horses. I’ll share this to other pals who love horses too. Thanks for posting.
