Eventing Camp. I am over the top excited.

Eventing Camp at CAF July 11-14 with eventing superstars...

Leslie Law

Dorothy Crowell

Peter Atkins

I haven't yet posted about it because it is pretty far off at this point but I cannot contain my excitement any longer and must post about it.  A friend of mine introduced me to the wonderful farm and owner Come Again Farm (CAF) and Lee Ann Zobbe(LAZ).  Lee Ann is an amazing person, trainer and has done an amazing job turning CAF into THE eventing farm in central Indiana.  She litteraly built an amazing cross country course.  By built I mean she constructed many of the jumps with her own two hands.  Each year she puts on an Eventing Camp.  Last year I did not know about it.  Actually I didn't even really know about eventing(gasp) yes it's true.  This year though I plan to be first in line when it come time to register.

From what I have heard it is a jam packed 4 days.  Starting Monday and going through Thursday with a schooling show to follow on Saturday.  Listen to the line up!  Dorothy Crowell, Leslie Law, and a name you may have heard this year or you have been under a rock Peter Atkins has just been confirmed!!!  She did have Becky Holder but schedueling did not work out.  Though Becky will be doing a clinic in Indiana in August so I am hoping to make that also.  They pack in as much information as possible.  Such as last year they had a vet come in and talk about lameness in sport horses during lunch.  How to spot and treat it.  I seriously get butterflies just thinking about being out on the cross country course with with all these amazing olympic and WEG medalists.

So come July 11-16 I will be in eventing heaven!!!!

  3. I am absolutely taking Steady, can't wait!!! I have volunteered him for a training demo done by Leslie on Monday night. He is going to ride 3 different horses. I hope they pick Steady! I guess having to cross an ocean may be a good excuse not to attend...lol.

  6. If you get a chance, DEFINITELY go get Becky -- the three days Solo and I spent with her this fall really bumped us up to the next step in our training. If I said everything good about her that I wanted to, I'd be typing for hours. She is phenomenal, generous, funny, and I have mad MAD respect for her.

  9. I went last year and it was awesome! I hope to attend with my newly acquired and very green TB, Zak this year. You'll have a blast and learn a ton!

  10. ZaktheTB that is awesome you went last year. Are you friends with LAZ on facebook because she keeps updating how many have already gotten in their registration and it is nearly full already. That is awesome for her but I am hoping my registration makes it in time. I sent it Saturday so we will see. Just thought I would let you know if you haven't registered you may want to asap.

  12. It is full! Did you get in??? I was sure mine didn't make it in time but she assured me today that it did and I made it. I am so relieved. With the week I had then not make it into event camp would have just topped it all off. I hope you somehow got it in. If not she is seriously considering having a second in August because of the insane response.

  13. I just talked to her, and the July camp is full. She said she is trying to get the August one worked out, though. I hope she does! August really works way better for me anyway...

  14. That is awesome that August will work out better. I am sure she will do one in August. I mean it filled up in less than a week, that is insane. Do you have a blog? I clicked the link on ZAKtheTB and it didn't take me to one. Maybe we will meet at a CAF show this year. If I am not showing at it I am planning to volunteer at it so if you are there chances are I will be too. I was really wanting to do July because my friend I was planning to attend with was already signed up. And because it is at the begining of the season and I thought it would be good timing for our progress. I got in at the last second. I kept watching for her email saying registration was open and got it on the road out of town for 4 days where I had no access to a printer...ugh. Talk about bad timing. Then when she was talking about how fast it was filling I started freaking out. I got it in at the last possible second.

  15. No, I've never really done blogging, but I came across your blog on google and I was hooked. I've been following along, and when you mentioned CAF event camp, Ijust had to comment.
I really hope she does one in August. The reason I waited to turn my forms in was due to some timing conflicts. And last year I signed up in May with no problem. It's crazy how fast it filled up. I hope to do some shows this Spring, Summer, and Fall with Zak but I'll have to see where we are at. I'm sure I'll run into you at CAF though, because even if I'm not showing I like to go and cheer on my other barnmates.
